About us
In 2020, we were one of the first companies worldwide to bring a UV-C LED water disinfection unit designed for mobile use to the market. We pioneered the development of a ready-to-use, consumer-friendly solution that made chemical-free water purification accessible for everyone.
Our groundbreaking innovation, honored with the German Innovation Award, continues to set new standards in efficiency, sustainability, and reliability.

Rely on UV-C units from WM aquatec!
UV-C LED disinfection units from WM aquatec stand out for their compact reactors, immediate effectiveness/availability of the required dose, and pulsed demand mode—all while being free of harmful mercury. Their greatest advantage lies in miniaturization: due to their compactness, they enable battery-operated systems that represent a significant asset, particularly in the mobile sector. This makes them ideal for retrofitting (retrofit solutions), small volumes, or sensitive applications.
While low-pressure or medium-pressure mercury vapor lamps are still present on the market, their use will (very likely) be strictly limited or even banned in the future due to regulatory requirements. Both UV technologies generate germicidal radiation, but with different characteristics. Medium-pressure lamps emit a broad spectrum ranging from UV-C to visible light and achieve very high intensities—ideal for processing large volumes of water in a short time. Their disadvantages include high energy consumption, intense heat generation, and a limited lifespan, which is often a drawback for compact, mobile applications.
In contrast, UV-C LEDs emit in a very narrow, highly effective range (typically 265–280 nm), are extremely energy-efficient, resistant to frequent switching (unlimited switching cycles), and are virtually maintenance-free.
